The Louis Vuitton auction, held last night at Sotheby's on New Bond Street, saw seven special orders sold for a total of £495,000 in aid of the Red Cross.Louis Vuitton offered six masters of savoir-faire the opportunity to create a unique special order that embodies their expertise in their respective professions.

Working with the brands iconic leather workshop in Asnires, just outside Paris, celebrity chef Ferran Adri, photographer Annie Leibovitz, musician Gustavo Santaolalla, painter Damien Hirst, fashion designer and Louis Vuittons creative director Marc Jacobs, and family heir Patrick-Louis Vuitton all designed leather trunks and bags in line with the labels aesthetics.

Leibovitz chose to create a practical leather backpack, while Hirst designed a black trunk and Jacobs opted for a dog carrier (the designer owns two bull terriers).

To commemorate the event, Louis Vuitton has crafted a limited edition Red Cross medical trunk.
